What It Means to Be an Affiliate Coordinator
Being an Affiliate Coordinator means you’re the heart of Hot Mess Express in your community. You’re not just organizing missions, you’re leading a movement of women helping women.
As a coordinator, you’re the leader. You set the tone, rally your volunteers, and make sure your chapter stays active and connected.
Running an affiliate typically takes 10–15 hours a month. That time includes planning missions, checking in with volunteers, and managing communication and logistics.
Missions don’t happen overnight. It often takes about three months to build awareness, gather volunteers, and receive your first nomination.
Remember, women aren’t always quick to ask for help - that’s why this work matters! You’re helping create a safe, judgment-free space where it’s okay to raise a hand and say, “I need it.” That takes consistency, effort, and patience.
As a coordinator, you’ll need to motivate your team to show up, to help, to keep going. You don’t have to be perfect, just willing to keep moving forward.
It takes effort, but so does community.
Friendships take effort. A village takes effort.
And a village can’t exist without its villagers, women like you who make it happen.
